Chris and Phyllis
Chris and Phyllis Tempest are a husband
and wife music duo from Klamath Falls,
Oregon. They have been in full-time
music ministry since 2002, performing
concerts, and challenging and encouraging
congregations in churches across the
country. Their mission is to move people's
hearts to passionately pursue God and
growth in their spiritual lives.
 Chris
is a gifted songwriter who sings and
plays keyboard and guitars. He studied
music composition at the University
of Northern Iowa. He was born in Waterloo,
Iowa, and raised in the Lutheran Church.
He came to a knowledge of the saving
grace of Jesus in the Church of the
Nazarene, and was baptized in 1991.
Phyllis serves as business manager,
and plays keyboard and bass guitar.
She studied piano performance at Northwest
Nazarene University. She was born in
Nampa, Idaho, and was raised and saved
in the Nazarene Church, where her father
was a pastor.
The Tempests' music is noted for
stylistic variety and lyrical clarity.
They have released six CDs - The Journey,
The Path, The Odyssey, This Dream, Garden Songs,
and The Year of the Mystic.
Before pursuing their calling in
full-time music ministry, the Tempests
were park rangers at Crater Lake National
Park.
